The Safety Precautions Grove Eye Care is Taking for Your Security During this Pandemic and Beyond

We understand that having any sort of medical appointment can be daunting, particularly at the current time. Rest assured that patient safety is our priority and we are taking positive steps to ensure that your appointment is smooth, safe, and carries minimal risk.

Unfortunately, we are not able to operate exactly as normal at the current time. If you have an existing appointment outstanding, our team will be in contact in due course to reschedule. The current COVID-19 guidelines mean that we aren’t able to accommodate as many patients in the office as we would usually. Please be patients and we will do our best to take care of your eye care and eyewear needs as soon as possible.

Here’s what you need to know about the safety precautions that we are taking for your security during this pandemic and beyond.

Face Coverings

All patients and guests who visit us are required to bring their own mask or face covering which should be worn for the duration of their appointment unless instructed otherwise. To further this protection, all of our staff will also be wearing appropriate face coverings during your visit.

Forms and Documentation

We are moving our paperwork online so that you can fill in all of the forms we need before your appointment. This means that you will spend less time in our offices and more in the comfort of your home. Any forms that you need to complete will be emailed to you ahead of your appointment and should be completed before your arrival. If you have any questions about any of the paperwork you receive, we can be contacted by email or phone and will do our best to answer them and give you any other information that you need.

COVID-19 Safe Check-In

When you arrive for your appointment, please wait outside in the parking lot and call us on 804-353-3937 to let us know that you are here. We can then start our new and improved, COVID-19 safe check-in procedure. This will involve finalizing remote paperwork from your car and initiating comprehensive COVID screening. Our waiting room is temporarily closed, and you will be asked to wait inside your vehicle until we are ready for you.

Companions

If you need a caregiver to remain with you during the appointment, they will be able to come in with you. However, any other companions should remain outside.

Improved Air Purification

As we know, COVID-19, like many other viruses, is an airborne disease. This means that it is spread via droplets expelled from the nose and mouth into the air, where it can come into contact with someone else, infecting them. With this in mind, we have installed two new air purification systems at our Midlothian office. These purification systems - Lennox air filtration and purification systems, and HALO-LED air purification system, have been shown to be effective in reducing airborne and surface microbials, bacteria, viruses, and mold, thus protecting our patients from the spread of diseases. They also reduce the presence of other airborne contaminants such as dust and allergens, helping to make the environment more comfortable for those patients who suffer from allergies.
